Shannon McCarty currently serves as the Director of Development for CLASS. In this role, she is responsible for fundraising and grant writing, coordinating the organization’s marketing and communication efforts, maintaining the CLASS website and social media platforms, and planning CLASS’s special events.
Beginning as a volunteer for the organization in high school, Shannon has held several positions with CLASS since she joined the organization as an employee in 2005. Earlier roles in the organization included working as a Rehabilitation Specialist for the Community Skill Building Program, and teaching various classes to assist individuals with disabilities to reach their own personal goals. Among her accomplishments, Shannon helped launch the organization’s first independent website and social media sites as the Website Facilitator.
Ms. McCarty holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Gannon University and a Masters of Public Administration in nonprofit and public management from the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs at the University of Pittsburgh. Ms. McCarty resides in Shaler with her husband, Ryan, and their daughter, Harper.
